Those of us fortunate to live in the North Georgia, Eastern Tennessee, Western Carolina's, West Virginia, Virginia and far Eastern Kentucky area here in the Southeast, are familiar with the Appalachian Trail. Although many never take in it's amazing beauty. For those of us that do appreciate the "AT" and have hiked portions of it, here's an awesome interactive map for you.

One of my few regrets in life is I never did the through hike I always wanted. I've walked probably 90-95% of the AT between GA and Virginia, but I always wanted to do the whole thing at one time.

Wife is going to hike about a week's worth of the AT in Georgia this fall. (early November) Any advice? We figure cold and wet, they aren't going to try to break any speed records, just trying to have a good time, but they'll need realistic idea of mileage. Both she and my niece are in very good shape, I'm guessing 10? miles per day???

We are planning on a thru hike probably within the next three years. Right now we're doing some shorter hikes, shaking out gear, etc...any of y'all done much hiking on the AT?
