Take a close up pic of the slide stop area like this when it locks open on an empty mag, not you doing it manually.

It's a shame Ruger couldn't get it right.

Once it’s locked to the rear, remove the mag and see if the slide catch moves.

Whelp... Spoke to Ruger lead tech over SR1911's, stated that the issue I'm having is fine! I guess it would be an issue with just a light tap. O'well, got a couple extra mags out the deal!
