What's the issue with a fixed power? I love a good fixed 4x scope. No tinkering with adjusting the damn thing and it works well at pretty much any distance under 200 yards for hunting purposes. Just point and shoot. I had one on a .22 and I loved that thing for hunting tree rats.

On a .22 I wouldn’t be against it. But on an AR I would rather Be able to dial it down to 1x.

I like fixed power scopes for hunting no matter what the rifle is. And you can get better quality glass with a fixed power than a similarly priced variable power scope. Most people with 1-4x scopes dial it all the way up to 4x when hunting anyways. To each their own though. I'm pretty sure I have a Weaver 4x38 in my safe that's not being used if you change your mind. I'm not sure if I have rings for it or not though.

Where I hunt is pretty heavily wooded and for hogs my 3-9x was a bit too much at times. I want to be able to pull it in to 1x when I’m in the thicker woods but if I end up at a field quickly dial it up to something higher.
