I am looking for a better way to carry in the vehicle. In the personal vehicle it is always on my side and in the work truck it has to stay in a holster under the center arm rest.

So I have been looking at the https://go-mags.net/ they seem to be a good way to get it off my side.

Has anybody used anything like this? Is there a better way to keep the gun easily accessible but still secure from floating around the vehicle?

Subscribed. I'm interested to see what people are using for larger handguns. My little LCP II fits perfect in the cubby below the CD player in my car but sometimes I want one hidden but still easily accessible.

That's why I am heavily leaning towards the magnet. I would be able to put it out of view, but within reach. When I get out of the car just put it back in the holster.

Have you trying to draw from the position that you have pictured? I bet it would be fairly difficult.

It's actually really easy. I normally keep it further out than what's pictured so that I can get a firm grip. The sticky pocket holster is really grippy so it stays put well and stays in the cubby when I draw it.

I don't have one in my current vehicle. My last car I mounted a holster to the side of the center console. I like the idea of retention so if I'm in a wreck the gun is less likely to turn into a heavy object flying around. It was a cheap nylon holster with a strap.

The gun is the least of my concern in a wreck, I got so much other stuff in the truck. I have a feeling that this magnet is pretty solid though and wouldn't just let it free. Plus it is still better than nothing.

Also take @_Jake_ with his gun stuck in the dash. I would be a little more worried with that floating around then if it was secured some way.

I agree the magnet is probably pretty secure, especially compared to the gun just in a cubby hole.

I don't take mine off my hip unless it's to lock it up when I go to the courthouse or somewhere like that, but if I did I would just get a Blackhawk or something and screw it to the dash or the side of the console.

Couldn't have an obvious mount like that because I do not own the truck. But the magnetic mount wouldn't be an issue because nobody that matters would know.

If you own the truck, it may be worth taking it to conceal pro georgia and having a hidden safe installed. They can put them in the dash and do all kinds of cool stuff.

If its a company owned truck, not worth the money

I can not go that extreme. I never know how long they will have me in the truck. It may have the truck for a month or ten years. Plus I am looking for something that will keep it accessible, not worried about concealment.

The magnet is probably the way to go. You could use one of the bed mount holster set ups as well so it hangs over the edge of the seat. I like the side pocket in the door and can usually clip the holster to the edge with an IWB holster.

Well I ended up gong with the go magnet. I installed one in the work truck, personal vehicle and one in the closet. So far they are are of great quality, have superior magnetic strength and stupid easy to install.

The one in the personal car held the ccw pistol in place on the ride to and from dinner tonight. While still keeping it within very easy access if the need arises.

The closet one is holding the M&P pro 9, extended mag and suppressed. I tucked it in behind the shelves that are hidden behind the door once opened (that also is stacked up with jeans). 20171105_202953.jpg
