1 Oven slow cooker bag
1 pint o' bourbon (Yukon Jack was what he swore by)
2 large cans (or 3 regular cans) pineapple slices IN SYRUP
2 large cans (or 3 regular cans) Mandarin oranges IN SYRUP
1 box of brown sugar (16 oz)
2 sticks of butter
1 ham
The juice:
Melt 1 stick of butter, then add half of the brown sugar. Then pour in the syrup from 1 can (or 1.5 cans) of each oranges and pineapple rings. Finally pour in half the bourbon.
Score the skin of the ham to allow juices to penetrate better.
Place the ham in the slow cooker bag in an oven pan then pour the juice all over the ham. Seal the bag as per the instructions and place in the oven overnight at 200°.
In the morning, remove and de-bone (it'll fall right out) the ham. I typically pull it BBQ style then, place the chunks in a crock pot.
Use the remaining ingredients to whip up another batch o' juice and pour over the ham in the crock pot. Let her cook about 6 hours on low.
Crack open your favorite "poverty beer" (Miller lite) and enjoy!
