You should do something like this. And if you want it to look authentic, don't paint it, just let the finish wear off. No GI would ever paint his rifle, and most of the wear and tear will be from carrying it next to your web gear, wearing the finish off.

You need this @Axeman to build out the upper you bought at Truprep.

As far as good steaks go, I remember having a very good dinner at the Horseradish grill next to Chastain park. The restaurant is called something else now, and I have no idea how the food is now. Then again, that steak dinner at that restaurant was over 20 years ago.
