Super VS. Sub

What's a good ratio of supersonic vs. subsonic ammo to have on hand? I've gotten into the NFA game later than most, (still waiting on cans) so my supply of subsonic pistol ammo is lacking a bit.

Right now I'm at about a 7.5 : 1 (super vs. sub) ratio.

I'll probably still shoot a lot of supersonic stuff because I mainly shoot at a local indoor range, and it's freaking loud no matter what I'm shooting.

my 22 super to sub is prob 1:1 but yeah 9mm im up there with you, maybe even around 10:1 just because I shoot a lot of 9mm unsuppressed. I only keep enough sub 9mm on hand for a couple range trips

I also have 500 powderless 22s ive been wanting to fuxx with. Im assuming those are quieter than the hammer (is it a hammer?) striking the rim

They're super quiet, at least the Aguila Super Colibri's were. I used to shoot them in the basement. Quieter than my bb gun. Don't shoot the powderless ammo through a suppressor though, or their 60gr. SSS load.

Those bullets might not stabilize well and you risk baffle strikes. It's not necessary either.

Yep, just a tiny, pointy piece of lead. I've read warnings on several suppressor sights saying not to shoot the 60gr. SSS load through their cans either.

The powderless ones will penetrate one side of a soup can...sometimes.

Last time I figured it out, I was somewhere around $6 per 50 (i.e. "box" quantity). I haven't priced projectiles recently- about two years ago I ordered thousands from Precision Delta. The projectile cost is the biggest part of the reloaded round cost.

From memory, which is unreliable, I think I was at about a penny for powder, three cents for the primer, and about eight cents per projectile.

If I didn't enjoy the hobby, I would have trouble justifying the time for all the reloading- but I like it. Are subs running that cheap? Those always seem to be hard to find for a "good" price.

Oh- and brass is basically free. I have a bunch, but 9mm and .380 always seem to be on the ground at the range. Most people I talk to aren't interested in reloading those calibers, among others.

380 would be good to reload if you shoot it bc its expensive as crap. ikll give you a bag of 380 brass for free if you want it
